this is a hard question to answer because if you define "average wpm" to be the average of all average wpm of every single user on this website, let alone EVERYONE, it would be pretty hard to calculate. There is no true "average wpm" as no person's speed stays the same. Everyone's speeds are different, ranging from a mere 30 to a blazingly fast 200 depending on who you're looking at. So to answer your question, there is no average. Also are you talking about raw wpm on monkeytype or quotes on monkeytype? Both are very different, as high raw speed is much easier to achieve than high speed with actual sentences.

raw speed quotes for me is about 10-20 wpm slower than average
but yea environments differ, the average is global, not just your school or this website or even the country. It's ALL AROUND THE WORLD.
you're talking about just your school, not thinking on a global scale. Some environments have many different averages, that's true, but many people state that average because not many people touch type.

oh you are SO WRONG. I know many people in my school who don't touch type. But yeah you are definitely surrounded by people in your similar skill level, but that doesn't consider others. (you're good tho)
lol what how do people live without touch type staring at the keyboard while typing is very inefficient imo and you cant focus on the screen i probably got my wpm from crazy 1k msg discord arguments overnight
some people aren't just born with that. I started off like that too, it just takes learning.

that's logical, given we take the entire world in the scale. Also America is a more technologically advanced country than most, so taking the less technologically advanced countries into the scale, it would make sense that the average seems "low" in your eyes.
Europe and certain parts of Asia would also be technologically advanced.
