I've gotten used to it, But I do agree. There should be a setting for that, similar to that of dark mode and light mode. I believe there's only one person working on the website, so I imagine it won't happen soon, but we'll see.

Thoughts from a first time user of the site :D
I absolutely love the UI, and how cute the emojis and nicknames are. I absolutely adore how cute and easy on the eyes all of this is. My only concern though is the typing part, a very minimal concern but affects at least my typing experience a bit. I wish that when instead of when you type a word out wrong and you have excess letters. (like the word "DOG" and you type "DOH_JUMPS" in the game you stop at DOH and your excess letters ("_JUMPS") aren't counted) My issue is that I am used to when I type excess letters that I have to remove, I backspace everything, so I backspace the number of times to correct the word (in this one to clear "H_JUMPS" I need to do it 7 times) but because the game only stops at the end of the word where you had the error (it stops at DOH) I usually end up backspacing more than I need to. Though this problem is very minimal I still think there should maybe be a different typing mode for us to choose from (the original one, and the one I was talking about) because I think it is important because when we do type stuff, it wouldn't automatically stop at the word when we get it wrong. But design wise and everything else I absolutely love the site :D and I will definitely use this site more often.

Exactly! I also am getting used to it but it would be nice to have a setting for it. Also the creator replied to my post which shows how active they are, so though maybe not now I'm glad the creator is pretty active in making this website a better one.

Hey thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed post. I appreciate your compliments on the UI. Indeed it would be an easy fix, but peoples opinions tend to go both ways. Some people have told me that it should keep allowing characters forever until you realize the mistake, some people say 1 letter, one word, or no mistakes at all. It is a delicate balance. I have tried to make the site as new-typer-friendly as possible so that people aren't punished too hard if they don't realize their mistake quickly. In that case they only have a few backspaces to press instead of potentially a lot more. But I do see the technical reason behind your suggestion and the confusion that may be caused. When I get the time, I may actually switch to your suggestion, where it does not restrict mistakes.

Now that you mention that, that is true and the friends of mine who did try your site didn't find anything wrong with the typing, so it really is new-typer-friendly.
