Your wrist should be on your keyboard or at least anchored somewhere. It gives you stability to type faster.

Palms/wrist on or off the keyboard?
I used to always type with my palms on the keyboard. Recently I've been trying a floating style and have noticed my accuracy improve; although in this short a time of practicing this way I haven't noticed an improvement to my speed that can't be explained by the accuracy increase alone. I assume it helps with blood circulation.. and wonder if it helps reduce the odds of joint problems. So, which do you prefer? Do you think one has a potential speed advantage over the other?

If you're on a laptop, I definitely recommend having your wrists on the keyboard. Any other time, it depends on how you type but I find that resting your wrists on a stable surface is faster in moving your fingers. Keeping your hands floating in the air might take some level of concentration so it might be difficult to type fast.
